Great topic, Garrett. I work at a rheumatology center where we treat people with joint and connective tissue diseases, many of them autoimmune in origin. My doctors were convinced of the importance of vitamin D several years ago, particularly in the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis. Here in the Pacific NW, we’ve yet to find a patient (or staff member) with normal levels of D3, even during those two weeks of sunshine that we get each August!
After watching the video, I would caution your followers to talk with a medical professional before starting a vitamin D supplement. It is available over-the-counter and is relatively inexpensive, but it is not water soluable and too much D can cause hypercalcemia, a potentially life-threatening conditon. Just ask to have your D3 level checked the next time you get your annual labs done. Most insurances cover it now.
Always enjoy your blog. Still making the quinoa recipes your shared last fall.

Have you ever read that it helps to improve moods, i.e. people who have more exposure to sunlight helps to improve attitudes for the positive?
